DTF PRINT TRANSFERS INFO

What are DTF Print Transfers?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a versatile and popular method used in the garment and textile industry for applying designs onto various fabrics and materials. Here’s an overview of the DTF process:

How DTF Printing Works:

  1. Design Printing: The process begins by printing the desired design onto a special type of transfer film using a DTF printer. This printer uses specialized inks that are designed to adhere well to the film.

  2. Powder Application: After printing, a powdered adhesive (usually a type of hot-melt powder) is applied to the wet ink on the film. This powder helps bond the ink to the fabric during the transfer process.

  3. Curing: The film with the applied powder is then passed through a curing oven to melt and set the adhesive powder, solidifying the ink and making it ready for transfer.

  4. Transfer: The cured film is placed onto the desired substrate (such as a t-shirt or other fabric) and transferred using a heat press. Heat and pressure are applied to ensure that the ink adheres to the fabric.

  5. Peeling: We use hot peel that you can peel immediately saving you time, the film is peeled away, leaving the design securely applied to the fabric.

Advantages of DTF Printing:

  • Versatility: DTF can be used on a wide range of materials, including cotton, polyester, and blends. This makes it suitable for various types of apparel and other textile products.
  • Vibrant Colors: The process produces bright, vibrant, and detailed designs with high color accuracy.
  • Durability: The prints are known for their durability and resistance to washing and wear.
  • No Need for Special Equipment: Unlike some other printing methods, DTF does not require a special coating on the fabric before printing.

Applications:

DTF printing is commonly used for custom apparel, including t-shirts, hoodies, and sportswear. It is also used for creating custom designs on other textile items and promotional products.

Overall, DTF printing is valued for its flexibility, quality, and the ease with which it can produce high-resolution, durable prints on a variety of fabrics.
